Abstract

Leptospirosis is the most widely disseminated zoonosis worldwide. It represents a re-emerging disease with a high distribution in Portugal, being a nationally notifiable disease. Due to the low specificity of the initial symptoms and signs, it is often confused with other diseases, however it can be extremely severe. The authors will present a challenging case of leptospirosis and the complexity of the approach and treatment.
