Abstract

The dermatological manifestations associated with Mycoplasma pneumoniae are characterized by prominent mucosal involvement and variable skin involvement, usually in the form of a vesiculobullous rash. For a long time, this entity was classified as part of the epidermolytic dermopathies, but in recent years, considering its benign course and distinct morphology, it has been reclassified as a separate disease, called mucositis and rash induced by Mycoplasma pneumoniae.

With this work, the authors present a case that constituted
a diagnostic challenge, due to the difficulty to allocate
this presentation into a clinical syndrome of the Stevens-
-Johnson syndrome (SJS)-toxic epidermolytic necrolysis (TEN)-erythema multiforme (EM) continuum, alerting to the
existence of this new clinical entity.
